Original 1970s Square Componibili Unit by Anna Castelli Ferrieri 1
Specialising in luxury plastic furniture and decorative objects, Italian design brand Kartell was founded by Giulio Castelli (1920-2006) and his wife Anna Ferrieri (1918-2006) in Milan in 1949. Componibili first appeared in 1967 and have become a timeless furnishing classic, designed by Ferrieri to reflect the idea that design should not only be beautiful but also functional. This square version was one of the earliest models, with this particular piece dating between 1970 - c.1979.
Rare to find in this combination of units, the sections are removable, including the tray on top. The unit shows signs of use commensurate with age, which is taken into account in the price. Two units are available (see the matching pair here), which make perfect bedside tables.
